Ditto for communicating with parents – be it via formal or informal channels. I have been particularly impressed with the level of staff engagement – the educators obviously enjoy spending time with the children and make a real effort to keep the kids engaged. My son blossomed during his time in the Kinder room – he came out of his shell and was more than ready for primary school. I needn’t have worried about the move - both of my kids loved Smartie Pants from the minute they first visited they soon formed strong connections with their carers and the other kids in the rooms. The staff at Smartie Pants went out of their way to listen to my concerns and make the transition as easy as possible. Moving into the area, I struggled with the idea of changing my children’s childcare arrangements.
The early education my children receive I can see is extremely beneficial in general and a great stepping stone to school life. Almost daily my daughter comes home with little facts and pieces of information that I am impressed she is aware of and taught prior to school.
I never realised how structured and detailed the curriculum is within a child care centre, the “LIFT” app enables updates and correspondence / sharing of information between educators and parents a seamless process. From a parents POV smartie pants are fantastic with their proactive approach to things and adoption of technology that benefits everyone. Our almost 5 year old and just over 2 year old love their daycare 4 days per week. and the staff themselves / curriculum and overall feel when meeting all the staff. We chose smartie pants initially from 2 aspects – location of site with its beautiful bushland setting letting kids enjoy nature etc. Smartie Pants child care is a fantastic “family” feel child care centre.
